The park consists of approximately 200 acres of natural uplands, wetlands and water within the Indian River Lagoon along Brown's Bay.

The park contains a picnic pavilion, nature trails, fishing piers and educational signs. The Marine Discovery Center, a non-profit environmental educational organization, provides programs in the preserve for children & adults.

Indian River Lagoon Preserve park has fishing pier, picnic pavilion, kayak launch, nature walk trail and dock.
