    Member Introduction

    I am new to saltwater and coastal fishing. I have a 17 ft boat and am looking for any wisdom or advise out there. I have tried my hand at cast netting and want to try it for shrimp next. Local to Daytona area and always looking for someone with experience to learn from.

    Welcome to the site. Lots of great info here in the archives and much is specific to around Volusia. The site owner/admin fishes that area and seems like a bulk of the old membership and conversations were from Volusia and surrounding waters.

    summer white shrimping is in July and August, hit and miss, Ormond River.
    winter shirmping run can start around December, but is on fire in March, April, Edgwater - Titusville
    you should go get some Mangroves in the river now if the time for them.
