The speaker of the house and I went up to Bings Landing yesterday to explore the area. I been away from this area for a number of years and a lot has changed. We ran into an interesting spot about a mile north of Bings and thought someone might shed some light on the possibilities. I did catch one nice trout there and tried to post a picture but could not figure out the process (HELP PLEASE). Tell me how and I will post the picture. One spot I found while exploring has a lot of hard sand and oyster bars. Saw one tailing red which really turned me on. I spooked him with the pink DOA I was using. This area looks like great gigging place. In my younger days I and my two buddies literally covered the bed of a pickup from Salt Run. That was back in the days of no limits and we fed our entire church on several occasions. If anyone would be comfortable with sharing a spot around Bings, I promise I won't try to empty your honey hole. I have grown older and wiser about taking what you can eat and leaving the rest for others. Never mind the picture post thing. I went to post and there it was...sure glad it wasn't a rattlesnake!!!!

    Thanks, Jake

    Hey guys...

Thanks all for the kind words. Was on a short vacation (4 days away from the computer) and don't have any pics to post...DRATS...But IF I had a tape recorder set up in the motor home you folks would die laughing and feel a bit sorry for me. The conversation, hourly, went something like.....
"I think there is a place to pee just up the road" "Yes dear" "My butt hurts. Can we stop for a while?" "Yes dear". "I think there is a place to pee just up the road". Can we stop for a while". "I think there is a place to pee just up the road" "Yes dear". "I'm Hungry". "Yes dear". "I think there is a place to pee just up the road" "Yes dear" "Oh look there was a nice place to eat at the last exit". "Yes dear". "I think there is a place to pee just up the road" "Yes dear" "Do you think we could stop and see Aunt Sadie?" "Yes dear".... "I think there is a place to .................." "Yes dear". YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA!!!!!!! We finally arrived at my sister's place in Jax and the first thing she said was...YUP YOU GOT IT...."Can I use your bathroom?" My sister's reply...OF COURSE. OF COURSE, is female speak...Of course should NEVER be uttered by a husband.

You see, I am an expert at women (YEA RIGHT!).

Tip for husbands and boyfriends....."Yes dear" goes a loooong way to creating a bit of silence. Only 2 words and it helps break up the thought process. I really didn't have to stop for anything but the pee thing (several times) and "yes dear" worked almost every time. Try it and let me know how many times she wipes you out with her purse...

Tip # 2...It's always smart to dig through her purse and remove any hard, heavy objects!!!

Bing's landing is on the ICW near Palm Coast. Public ramp. Pretty place. VERY clean water. Lots of structure. Holes where you find them. Hot spots map helps. Trout and flounder abundant. AND home to Captn's BBQ...GOOD STUFF!!!!!

    Tight lines...Jake
